Crystals and crystal healing can definitively be apart of helping depression, but as we know depression is much more complicated than that.
A statistic says one in four has mental health; the truth is that everyone has mental health. Everyone. And we all have to do what we can to improve it, and there are many different ways to enhance our mental health. The main way I’m going to talk about it here Crystal Healing. At the same time, that does not disregard any of the many other excellent ways of helping depression, such as taking medication, talking-therapy, exercising, sleeping enough and connecting with other people in a meaningful way. I believe that Crystal healing can work alongside more ‘traditional healing’ modalities but should never replace it.
One important thing to note before I continue, if someone who is reading this struggles with their mental health, they should definitively go and see their GP first.
How does Crystal Healing work?
Crystals are elemental forces of nature that vibrate at a specific frequency. Unlike ourselves, they do not have complex thoughts and emotions, nor do they have any bills to pay, but they are still a life-form. Human beings also vibrate at a particular frequency, and so does our etheric energies, too, our aura and chakra.
This might sound controversial to some, but the cause of depression may be an imbalance in our etheric energies, and crystals can bring those energies back to harmony, significantly reducing the effects of depression. My suggestion is that if you do struggle with depression, see a crystal healer who can help you choose the correct crystals for you and take you through a crystal healing session. Another powerful tool to manage heavy feelings and thoughts is meditation. Hopefully, the crystal healer that you see will take you through a meditation.
The Crystal Healing session
In a crystal healing session with me, I will always guide you through a meditation that will open you up to the power of spirit, be receptive for healing and activate your healing capabilities. You are your own best healer after all. I am mostly there to facilitate healing to occur. The meditation and crystal healing should leave you feeling calmer, at ease and able to reframe many of the challenges you are going through.
If you were going to get a crystal yourself, I would start with getting a Clear Crystal Quartz, known as one of the great healers amongst the crystals. Or whatever else you are drawn to. Set your intentions, and then start browsing – you may find that you are drawn to a completely different crystal. First, you can sit with it in meditation and allow the energy coming from the crystal to flow through you and enhance the healing process.
I think it’s important to say that a condition such as depression is complex and has many different facets, so it is pivotal to consult your GP. To manage depression and enhance it require a multi-pronged approach which includes not just crystal healing but also exercise, journaling, getting enough sleep, constructing a sense of purpose, talking therapy and perhaps medication depending on the severity of the depression.
One of the best books that I have ever read on the topic is Lost Connections: Uncovering the Real Causes of Depression – and the Unexpected Solutions by Johann Hari. This book is essential for anyone struggling with depression because it sheds some new light on the topic and proposes some beneficial solutions. One of them being meditation.
