Visual meditation is the key when learning to communicate with Spirit. I was first introduced to Visual Meditation by my clairvoyant grandmother when I was around five or six years old. When I met my second spiritual teacher, Ines Nicholson, she also used this type of meditation.
Both of them are great mediums, which leads me to believe that meditating in this way is incredibly powerful and useful for learning to communicate with our Spirit Guides, dead relatives, and all the other spiritual forces that exist close to our earthly realm.
I have found that it works very well for me and my students. Some people struggle with visualisation in the beginning, but they become more adept at it over time. I have been practising since 2013, and there are certain days when I struggle too.
The trick is always returning to the practice and trying as best as you can to approach the meditation with a fresh perspective. When you do, the guides can come closer to you, and you will feel the greater benefits of practising meditation.
The upsides of practising visual meditation
- A visual type of meditation helps to build a bridge of communication with Spirit.
- Visual meditation aids us in creating a construct of the spiritual realm.
- Practising meditation with visual elements gives the mind anchors to hold on to when focusing.
- This style of meditation gives us a generalisable language between us and that of Spirit.
The downsides of practising visual meditation
- When we practice visual meditation, it’s easy to begin to imagine stuff that does not exist. For example, if the mind gets afraid, it can begin to imagine monsters. On the other hand, if a person has certain cultural beliefs, then that can influence what they see.
- Meditation can become a form of escapism if it is not carried out with the right intention.
- Some people find that they become even more anxious when practicing meditation.
