When we were children, most of us were in awe of the world as we moved through it and grew up – the Page Of Cups asks us to bring that energy back into our life as a counterweight to balance out all of the troubles of adult life. As we are all well aware, there is enough for them to go around.
Children are most of the time filled with joy, eagerness to experiment, with no fear of failure and wants to explore the world around them with their eyes wide open. Without noticing, adolescence and adulthood hit us, and we forget about the essence of our childhood. In part, that is simply growing up and needing to pay our bills. At the same time, in this instance, the Page of Cups asks us to bring back some of that youthful energy into our lives to balance out the serious nature of adulthood.
The card advises us to take that energy and forge it into a useful, practical and helpful tool that we can use as adults to see life from a new, fresh and different perspective. To ensure that we do not get too bogged down in minor details and forget to smell the flowers.
That is what the Page of Cups is asking us to do – bring some of that childhood-like energy back into our life. Because all of us over the last year has faced some serious challenges and to move us into the future with new vigour, we have to rekindle the child-like energy mentioned within us.
How do we activate the energy of the Page Of Cups?
Nothing happens without taking action. We can choose to sit around and wait for the world to sweep up as long or be proactive and decide how we want to live our lives.
A quote from Seth Goding sounds like this: You don’t need more time in your day. You need to decide.
We can bring forward the energy of the Page of Cups via reflection to raise our self-awareness and consider how we want to spend our time and respond to the world around us. Most of us have automatic responses to experiences we go through; that is simply how humans work. To change how we respond, we must ask ourselves how do we want to respond in the future? Let’s say your partner or a friend does something you disagree with – previously, you have reacted with anger and frustration.
You have now come to understand that this is not working. You can journal how you would like to respond instead and then experiment with different ways to react. Because I’m sure there will be plenty of opportunities to try out different strategies.
All of this will take time, and please do not be afraid of failure because at least you are trying, which is more than can be said about most people. Healing is not quick-fix; it takes time and effort. And the thing is, when we begin to heal, that will start to have a positive effect on the world around us.
In the beginning, healing can be incredibly lonely; over time, you will become more comfortable with that feeling because you are never alone, even when you think you are. You may even notice that people around you start on their healing journey because you have been so proactive with yours. I would also highly recommend connecting with other people online who are on their healing journey because there are many of us out there.
